Fit & approach
Choosing the right partner
What kinds of companies does Ochoa Marketing Group work with?+
We work primarily with private equity firms, portfolio companies, industrial and technical businesses, professional services firms, and owner-led companies preparing for their next stage of growth. The common thread is a meaningful business objective and a story, strategy, or growth system that needs greater clarity.
When is OMG the right fit?+
We are a strong fit when leadership wants senior thinking close to the work, the business challenge crosses more than one marketing discipline, and the team is prepared to make focused decisions. Typical moments include a transaction, repositioning, new growth initiative, website rebuild, market expansion, or a need to make marketing more commercially accountable.
When is OMG not the right fit?+
We are not the best fit for companies seeking only low-cost production, disconnected channel tactics, or a large junior team. We also will not recommend activity simply to keep a retainer busy. If a narrower specialist or a smaller first step is the responsible answer, we will say so.
How is OMG different from a traditional agency?+
We begin with the business problem, not a menu of services. Strategy, messaging, digital, creative, and measurement are connected around one commercial outcome. Senior involvement continues through the work, so the people shaping the recommendation remain accountable for execution.
Engagements
Scope, cost & timing
What does a typical engagement look like?+
Most engagements begin with a focused discovery and alignment phase. From there, we may deliver a defined project—such as positioning, a website, or transaction materials—or lead an integrated growth program across several workstreams. Every proposal identifies the outcome, scope, responsibilities, timing, assumptions, and measures of progress.
How much does a strategy-led marketing engagement cost?+
Investment depends on scope, speed, complexity, and the mix of strategy and execution. A focused positioning or narrative project costs less than an integrated growth program. We define the business outcome first, then recommend the smallest responsible scope instead of forcing the work into a standard package.
Do you work on projects, retainers, or both?+
Both. Defined projects work well when the objective and finish line are clear. Ongoing advisory or execution support makes sense when the company needs sustained momentum, optimization, or access to several capabilities over time. Some relationships begin with a project and continue only when there is a clear reason to do so.
How quickly can an engagement begin?+
Timing depends on current commitments, the urgency of the work, and how quickly the right stakeholders and materials can be assembled. After an initial conversation, we will give you a realistic start window and identify anything that could affect it.
How long before we see progress?+
Clarity and alignment can improve in the opening weeks. Demand and revenue outcomes take longer and depend on the buying cycle, market position, investment level, and execution readiness. We establish leading indicators early so progress is visible before final commercial outcomes arrive.
Working together
Process & collaboration
What do you need from our team?+
We need access to the right decision makers, honest context, existing research and performance data, customer or sales insight, and timely feedback. You do not need a polished brief. A clear business objective, the obstacle, and what is at stake are enough to begin.
Who will actually work on our account?+
Your work is senior-led. We assemble the right mix of strategy, creative, digital, research, and specialist support for the assignment, while keeping leadership close to the decisions and accountable for the result.
Can you work with our internal marketing team or other partners?+
Yes. We can lead the full program, fill a specific capability gap, or work alongside internal teams, sales leadership, investment professionals, agencies, developers, and subject-matter experts. Roles and decision rights are defined early so collaboration stays efficient.
How do you keep projects from becoming subjective?+
We establish the audience, business objective, decision criteria, and success measures before evaluating creative or channel choices. Research, customer evidence, performance data, and the agreed strategy give the team a shared basis for decisions.
Capabilities
What we can help solve
Can you help if we are not sure what kind of marketing we need?+
Yes. That is often the right time to talk. We can diagnose the commercial problem, separate symptoms from causes, and define the practical next move before you invest in channels, creative, or technology.
Do you build websites?+
Yes, when a website is part of the growth problem. We connect positioning, buyer needs, content, user experience, conversion paths, technology, SEO, and measurement so the site functions as a commercial tool—not only a visual refresh.
Do you provide SEO, paid media, content, and campaign execution?+
Yes. We support search strategy, SEO, paid media, content, email, campaigns, conversion improvement, and measurement. We recommend channels only after defining the audience, message, offer, and role each channel should play.
Can you support a private equity transaction or portfolio company?+
Yes. We help firms and management teams build credible investment narratives, CIMs, management presentations, market context, value-creation stories, portfolio positioning, and post-close marketing infrastructure. The work connects evidence and strategy without overstating the case.
Do you understand industrial and technical businesses?+
Yes. We are comfortable with complex offerings, long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, channel relationships, and buyers who expect proof. Our role is to make the business case easier to understand without stripping away the technical credibility that earns trust.
Results & logistics
Measurement, location & next steps
How do you measure success?+
Measures follow the business objective. Depending on the engagement, that may include qualified pipeline, conversion, search visibility, engagement from priority accounts, sales enablement usage, message adoption, speed to market, or transaction readiness. We distinguish leading indicators from final business outcomes and report both honestly.
Can you guarantee leads, revenue, rankings, or a transaction outcome?+
No responsible marketing partner can guarantee outcomes controlled by buyers, competitors, platforms, markets, or deal dynamics. We can commit to a disciplined process, clear deliverables, transparent measurement, and active improvement based on evidence.
Do you only work with companies in Houston?+
No. We are based in Houston, Texas and work with companies wherever their teams and markets are located. Houston gives us particular familiarity with industrial, energy-adjacent, technical, professional services, and owner-led businesses.
What happens after the first conversation?+
We will clarify the objective, timing, stakeholders, current constraints, and what has already been tried. If there is a fit, we will recommend a next step and define the scope. If there is not, we will be direct about that and, when possible, point you toward a more useful path.
